November Round-up

Lovely to see so many of you at the Repair Cafe yesterday - and we missed those of you who couldn’t make it!
Welcome to Bernie, and to visitor Sam 👋

Great turn out in the ‘Crafters Corner’ 👍
There were 24 volunteers, and 50 visitors - and we hardly had a minute to eat cake and have a chat! 😮‍💨
We looked at 37 jobs
- 22 were repaired;
- 4 were half fixed;
- 3 couldn’t be repaired; and
- advice was given on 8 other items (a couple of which will be booked in for the December Cafe)
We returned 2 jobs that had been repaired since the October Cafe, whilst 5 jobs are ‘ongoing’

- Did you ‘spot’ the pop star? Lyn Cornell, a hit solo singer and one of The Pearls (in the 1960’s) was one of Tim’s customers, and we spent some time reminiscing with her, listening to her hit songs and watching her performances. How many of you remember this one? https://youtu.be/meR1tVjpCEk?si=7PwAq9aaYRqZLbuF  Or perhaps this: https://youtu.be/INcs6NMgMDQ?si=t-slZ5hGrKxakJJf

- The Repair Cafe team will be having an informal ‘Festive Lunch and Chat’ at the Cafe on December 13th - details to follow. 🎄

- Well done Sam K, who is now ‘qualified’ to undertake safety testing of electrical items.

- We now have a ‘state of the art’ glue gun - courtesy of the grant from Elmbridge Community Lottery. Do check it out.

- The next cafe is on 13th December.

Thanking all our volunteers for their ongoing enthusiasm and support of the Cafe - you’re the ones that make it all happen!
